There is no doubt that Osteoporosis is a very serious condition. The number of fractures and disabilities created from this condition is astounding. Some people even die from complications from fractures that cannot heal because of the severe weakening of the bones. Since Osteoporosis is caused from an acidic body condition, it would seem logical that to reverse the condition should be simple, with a shift in body pH to the more alkaline side…and it is.
Let’s look at the traditional nutritional approach which includes milk and dairy products. Researchers and dietary experts say that milk and dairy products are among the most acidic forming foods you can eat. That means when you eat them they drop the body pH dramatically, sometimes down into the danger zone, depending on how much of them you eat. The Dairy Council would like you to eat as much of this group of foods as possible. It lines their pockets and pays their mortgages.
In fact, when you drink milk, the body must buffer all of the acid created by processing the milk in your body into a more alkaline form so it can be utilized. To do this, the body must draw on available minerals from your bones, which further depletes them of minerals. This chronic acidity leads to chronic mineral deficiencies which lead to Osteopoenia and finally Osteoporosis.
