The one thing that stands out the most in this list is probably the eye injury. After all, how can your eyes get damaged when your skin is being worked over with a laser? Well, the laser device is a small hand-held device so that the performing doctor has good mobility. The problem with this, is that it might accidentally shine in somebody’s eye. For this reason, both the performing doctor and the patient undergoing the treatment must wear protective eye gear at all times.

The other side effects such as the blistering, reddening, hypo pigmentation and darkening can all be treated and are mostly temporary. Wound infection is rare, but can still occur on some occasions. Crusting of the skin is something you need good post treatment care for, otherwise the problem will get out of hand.

You can prevent scarring by making sure you visit a reputable clinic that is known to have the skills to deliver satisfactory results. A qualified and skilled doctor will be able to treat you in such a way so that scarring will not occur.
